beginning teachers standards that can be used to design, implement, assess, and
reflect upon their lessons. They
include:
Design—The
teacher

Implementation—The
lessons incorporate

knowledge of the curriculum, subject matter and
individual learner needs

a variety of instructional strategies

awareness of the community
Assessment—The
teacher uses
·
a variety of formal and informal assessment strategies
Reflection—The
teacher
·
continually reflects upon the effects of his/her
practice and adapts instruction accordingly
seeks opportunities for
professional growth
