Welcome to the 2008-2009 school year and Lafayette Jefferson High School .  Jefferson High School is located in the heart of a dynamic community that embraces diversity in cultures, religions, ethnic groups, races and socioeconomic levels.  Greater Lafayette is home to Purdue University and several major multi-national corporations.

The incredible community support we receive has never been more evident than in the past four years. In May, 2002, Lafayette voters overwhelmingly supported a $2.4 million referendum to increase general fund revenue for the district. In May, 2003, Jefferson High School announced an aggressive and unprecedented Build the Future campaign that has raised over $14 million in private contributions from alumni and friends to construct the Rohrman Center for the Performing Arts, John B. Scheumann Stadium, Jefferson Spirit Shop, and Indiana’s first student-run credit union, Jefferson’s PEFCU@School. This is an exciting time to be a part of Jefferson High School .

Jefferson High School is a two-time national Blue Ribbon School of Excellence award winner; the highest honor given by the United States Department of Education. In 2004, JHS was honored by the Indiana Association of Teacher Educators with the Outstanding Successful School award.

Jefferson High School consistently produces several National Merit Scholars and distinguished alumni that represent the finest leaders in politics, business, education, law, medicine and many other professions. Jefferson High School continues as an educational leader by offering one of the finest high school curriculums in the nation. Our curriculum provides enrichment, exploration, remediation, instructional support and alternative programs to meet the needs of all students. Jefferson Academies provide students with the opportunity for an in-depth and focused program of study, and are being lauded at the local and state level as a model for the future.

Jefferson High School provides excellent opportunities for students to participate in a world-renowned performing arts program, fine arts, academic teams, radio and television, national award winning student publications, Project Lead the Way, one of Indiana ’s finest athletic traditions, and many other student activities. We are consistently exploring and adding activities to meet the needs and interests of our students.

Parents play an active role in the success of our school and we are proud of our " Parent Welcome Center " where parents greet and assist visitors to our school. We believe that parental involvement in our school is essential to the success of our students.
